Program by Richard Derocher
Text by Dave Moorman
[NOTE:] We have not put a Run It
command on this item. This program is
for the C-128 with an 80-column
screen. You use a copier to move it to
another disk. Boot "B.LETTER ATTACK".
You will need nerves of steel and
lightning fast reflexes to master this
game. The Letters are falling, and
only you, by typing the characters on
your keyboard, can save Homeville from
terrifying destruction.
Richard is a regular around the
Tower these days. We have enjoyed many
of his "construction kit" creations,
plus demos and quizzes. But Letter
Attack is the first fully home-brewed
game I have seen. (I may have missed
some before the Tower was moved to
Holly.) And I must say: I am
impressed.
You see, Richard is too young to
drive. If he keeps growing as a
programmer at this rate, he will soon
be offered one of those $100K jobs
doing Internet stuff for computer
illiterati.
Until then, we will gladly share
his work with you.
Somewhere, I read about the
"Mushroom" training method, used by
many hardware and software companies:
Just keep them in the dark,
feed them manure, and watch
them grow.
We promise to not feed anyone any
manure. But we look forward to
watching young programmers like
Richard grow.
